Can you make a recerservesion???
Excellent fresh food. We'll definitely be return customers!!!
Been here several times and have enjoyed every meal. I'm from California and this food reminds me of home. So glad we have a restaurant with good Mexican food!
MoreFood quality was average for the price. Service was excellent
We tried this for the first time tonight and were not impressed. We were seated quickly but it took forever for our server to come take our order. Food came out quickly once ordered but EVERYTHING was under seasoned and in s.aller than average portions. Once again it took forever for our server to get our ticket. We will not be back.
MoreProgressive Mexican menu with fresh vegetables and multiple proteins available for most dishes. Great service for a large party at an odd time of day.
MoreThe owners at Luna are the best. They've mastered delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine and they're some of the nicest people in town. We love going to Luna (and Sazon in Cullowhee). Be sure to ask about the special and items that may not always be on the menu, like stuffed avocados!
MoreThis was an amazing experience! The fiesta nachos were out of this world! The service was amazing such a nice waitress. My boyfriend had the chef's choice steak and he said "it was the best that he has ever had!" I would recommend this place to all my friends and family.
MoreThe food was served quickly, and is super delicious! The staff is very friendly and helpful. All around great experience!
MoreIt was delicious. I got the wet vegetarian burrito. Came with a bowl of rice. Excellent flavor. My husband got the poblano quesadilla. It was so good. We ate every bite and two baskets of chips and salsa. Also delicious. The service was excellent, food came out very quickly. The beer was great too. Good selection of beer. Very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back.
MoreThe food is always fresh and beautifully presented at this restaurant. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. A wonderful place!
MoreService was good, food was good but not great. Seemed to be lacking in flavor. I ordered something with "spicy" pork and it was just pork. Their hot salsa isn't hot. I was hoping for something to clear my sinuses even if it came in a bottle, no luck. The portions were big enough. The prices are higher than other Mexican spots in town but the atmosphere is worth the extra dollar. Just don't expect to pay less than 10 dollars for anything. We'll eat there again, hopefully they'll read this and crank up the flavor.
MoreThis place is AWESOME!!! The food is delicious, and the service is Outstanding! The atmosphere is very welcoming, and very clean. (Which is a huge deal). The puffy tacos are deeelicious, and the kids meals are well portioned for a great price. The best part was the server interaction with my small children. Highly recommend!
MoreLuna's has become our favorite Mexican restaurant. The Waynesville location is comfortable, with a well trained staff and comprehensive menu. All the dishes are light, fresh, and full of flavor. The kitchen is flexible and will happily accomodate dietary restrictions and allergies. As a vegan, I can be confident that the chef and his staff will take my requirements to heart and deliver a delicious meal every time. Our family, including a toddler, love to visit Luna's!
MoreWe ate here with a large crowd a couple of days after it opened and encountered some service problems. With a new staff that was to be expected, but the food was good. I do agree with other reviewers that the salsa could be chunkier, and less like spicy ketchup.Anyway, we went again last night and it was a much better experience. The menu has been streamlined to assure better efficiency and quicker delivery of plates to tables. Our food came surprisingly quickly. And this in spite of the fact that we asked for something that had been on last week's menu and was not on this new one. The server checked with the kitchen and they agreed that they could make something very similar (a wonderful quesadilla), and it came to us in no time. We will no doubt go back again. We hope that fajitas will also go back on the menu.
MoreGreat food and staff. We will definitely go back.
Luna is a fantastic Mexican restaurant! They serve authentic dishes with fresh ingredients. If you’re looking for cheap Mexican food covered in massive quantities of cheese, then this is not the restaurant for you. But if you want quality food and good service, then you’ll love Luna.
MoreStopped in for dinner and was sat quickly and within 2 minutes I had my drink and chips/salsa. Always appreciate the prompt service. Just got a chicken burrito and it's nicely done. Would recommend if you are in the area. Grest food and friendly staff.
MoreFor Waynesville this was this surprisingly good. If you like Mexican or just tacos this place has got you covered. I would go back and definitely try something else.
MoreChili Relleno was just like homemade! But they are NOT cheap like most Mexican restaurants considering the small amount of food you get. I will say we were disappointed with the portions and the fried jalepeno appetizer we had. For $5 we got sliced rings that weren't separated during the breading process, so we ended up with raw dough in between slices, and honestly it couldn't have been more than 1-2 jalepenos total. They also need to serve them with a lime slice as they needed that extra oomph. Over all though the chili relleno was great and we would return just for those!
MoreLovely experience all around. The food was fresh and tasty. The service was exceptional. We will definitely be back.
MoreLunch there yesterday was awesome! Great service! Not like all the other greasy Mexican restaurants in Haywood county. High quality food. Will definitely be back!
MoreVery clean establishment, friendly waiters, food has been cooked well and fresh and delivered quickly. The owner is very nice and checks to see if everything is good. The food again is delicious and by far the best in Waynesville. And VERY reasonable prices.
MoreI got a spicy pork burrito. I bit into a piece of cartilage that could only have come from the breastbone of a chicken (I have a photo, but what’s the point?) Besides the kind of stomach-turning feeling that signals the end of THAT meal with the question “How would that happen ?”, there is now no way I can go back. It’s a shame, in a town with so many good restaurants we really needed a good Latin one. Hope this one is for someone else.
MoreDelicious Mexican (not Tex-Mex) food. Large and varied menu. Fast, friendly service. Great prices. Big parking lot. Easy access on Main St.
MoreGreat place to eat. Lots of options. Most meals average around $10-12. Kids eat free on Saturdays from 11 to 4. Great friendly service.
MoreWe eat here often I like the chimachanga and she likes the bean burrito. Food is served up fast and delicious everyone there was friendly.
MoreThe place is very nice, friendly staff, food is pretty but taste wise it is ok
Great service and full of flavor. We had the fiesta de la carne!!
Just had lunch at Luna. Service is excellent. Everyone on the group of seven liked what they ordered. Owner is accessible and friendly. He makes the corn chips that are thin and tasty. I will definitely suggest Luna as a good option for lunch or dinner. The items on the menu are moderately priced. I brought half if my beans burrito home. Others took half of their meal home as well Than you for being in Waynesville.
MoreThe service in the restaurant was awesome. The only issue was the food. (Also known as one of the most important parts of a restaurant) as the chicken tasted like it came out of a can. The cheese was pretty good and the rice was kinda bland. I disliked the food personally, but the small child with me loved it as well as my dog at home. The chips and salsa were good, but the ACP (thought to be simple enough) was almost flavorless. I was not impressed. Thanks though.
MoreGreat little place with good portions and a huge menu. Habanero sauce is perfect if you want a little spice. We came in after two days/24 miles on the trail and this hit the spot.
MoreAs a vegan it is fairly difficult to find a reliable and vegan-friendly restaurant without having to venture to Asheville. One day while driving through town, I saw a sign outside Luna saying that they cater to vegans. Being open to something new that day I decided to try it out. Upon ordering I informed them about my vegan diet and asked to speak with the cook. I was then introduced to Alex, the head chef. I can easily say he was the most understanding and intelligent chef I had ever spoken with. It was a breath of fresh air to see a chef with so much passion for his food and also his customers. Unlike most restaurants that make vegans question/limit their menu choices, Luna and Alex took the weight off my shoulders and created a wonderful and fun experience for me and my diet! The food is as authentic as it can get and it definitely blows away any other Mexican restaurant to date. The environment, staff, and chef especially all deserve a standing ovation from the vegan community!
MoreGreat food and service. Priced slightly more but quality exceeded expectations. Location for me is closer than Asheville.
MoreThe food is GREAT! The location is ideal. We were seated in an awkward place as we needed a highchair. Not an issue really worthy of noting. Again, the food exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will be visiting regularly!
MoreGreat food. Awesome service. Salsa is tasty. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
Awesome menu, high quality ingredients, hormone/antibiotic-free meats, really good vegetarian menu. Run by the same folks who run Sazon in Cullowhee
MoreAmazing experience. Delicious food. Fast service. The staff was very friendly. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Definitely coming back next time we are in town.
MoreThe food is fresh and delicious. The chef and owner is very open to creating the exact dish you want. He is well versed in vegetarian and vegan needs and has always been willing to modify his recipes to our needs. If it is not on the menu or you want it a little different than how it is described just ask. My family of five (young children included) always leave his restaurant full, happy, and not broke - for example we had a full meal today with leftovers for $40.Alex and his staff are friendly and have created a warm atmosphere for all. If you haven’t visited yet I highly recommend you do, but don’t expect overly Americanized Mexican food...this is the real deal!
MoreWe've been often and the food is so authentic, fresh and delicious. Love their classic Margarita and the service is friendly, and efficient. One of our favorite places!
MoreNice place. Good food - not spicey, but hot sauce is also on the tables. Very friendly. Felt like we were welcomed as old friends. Give it a try!
MoreGreat staff and good food. Margarita was good and excellent bar service. Would have given 5 stars but visited with a large group and more than half received the wrong order and had to send something back so we did not all get to eat together. The staff was quick to provide assistance it was just a bit uneven.
MoreThe waitress was excellent. My husband wanted to try them. Our 1st clue should have been only 2 couples at 12:30pm. The salsa & chips were unremarkable. We paid $10. for 2 tacos & rice. I can honestly say they were AWFUL, dry & without flavor, same for the rice. Food was barely warm. The Guacamole tasted bland as well. Sorry we tried them. We split the meal and didn't finish it. Would not try again. Honestly don't see how they stay in business!
MoreDirty, several tables fulllif dirty dishes. Worst salsa ever, tasteless. No hot sauce or chili peppers on table, cheese enchiladas were freezing inside and were 90% tortilla. Rice was plain. Not worth the stop which is unfortunate because I drive past everyday.
MoreI love Mexican food. So when this restaurant opened of course I had to try it. I had lunch there that day. I was offered a table or a booth which was nice. After I was settled in my booth and began to look around I really liked the decor. It was bright and cheerful and at the same time it was designed with clean lines without overdoing decorations. My server was promt, brought out salsa and chips, and was knowledgeable about the specials and menu items. The chips were not the best I have eaten but not bad. The salsa tasted like it came from a jar. The food I ordered did not take too long to arrive and had a nice presentation. The food was very good. The rice was not what I was use to. It was good but didn't taste like mexican rice. However if you enjoy Mexican food but have trouble with a lot of spice this would be great for you. Overall I liked the restaurant but it wouldn't be my first choice if I was really in the mood for Mexican food. ..
MoreFooled again , we decided to try the new place in town well , the 8 dollar Rita , was about 3 ounces the rest ice and tasted kinda nasty. The fajitas were pretty gross , dried out little slivers and tiny chunks of some kind of grey meat substance . Again no nice way to put it , gross , they were not real fajitas , I would say cooked in a pot all day long . On the bright side the chips were decent and rice was fresh atmosphere is not so great but clean . Won't be going back , I don't understand why no one in Waynesville can cook or know what real fajitas should look and taste like !!!!
MoreGreat Mexican food with attentive staff. The only drawback was the lack of chicken tenders or "American" food on the kids menu. Not a huge issue but was the only negative of our visit. Everything else was great!
MoreGreat atmosphere! I really enjoyed the color selection. The bright color scheme was reminiscent of Disney's Coco. Bright blue, yellow and magenta walls add an energy to the setting. The food was great too. I had the Cali steak burrito which had a nice lime flavor. My party's dishes of Mole' chicken, fajitas and enchiladas looked wonderful as well. The Tres Leches cake was fantastic. Chilled to the perfect temperature and served over chocolate syrup. Think dipping an Oreo in ice cold milk only the Oreo is a peach cake with whipped icing. Local beer on tap includes Green man, Boojum, Devil's Backbone, Bird Song, Appalachian Brewing and many more. National beer like Budweiser, Bud light, Negra Modelo, Corona and many more. Coca-Cola soft drinks are also available.
MoreAttention to details is a good descriptor for this establishment. Never had an empty glass as the service was excellent as was the food. The staff is very friendly and the owner of the restaurant is terrific!
MoreBest Mexican food I’ve had in North Carolina! You will be floored. Everything is so fresh and delicious. We had the Mexican guacamole to start followed by the Sopesitas (pulled pork, beans, avocado, and sour cream on a masa cake) and tacos Vera Cruz (ridiculously good shrimp tacos). Also had the classic margaritas which were delectable. We will be coming back again and again!!!!! Seriously, do yourself a favor and head to Luna!
